One of The Material Collective's own went on vacation to her island home, Oahu, Hawaii. Visiting one of the malls of her youth—Ala Moana—with her childhood friend, they were walking around and all of the sudden, she was under a cool pattern of shade in front of what used to be her favorite store turned food court and she realized she was under the work of Parasoleil—to be more specific, the Kenyan© Pattern which she had used as the intro image of the first blog about Parasoleil on The Material Collective Website after taking representation duties for the SW sector.

Later, she found herself turning the corner and into another installation, this time as a backlit panel clad to the exterior in Lemon Drop© pattern and stopped to take a pic.

As product reps/designers, you often notice products—your own and your competitors about town—even on vacation, but it’s particularly fun to bump into the product lines you rep out in the wild adding that wow factor to spaces and places. For more information on this installation, or the shade and panels used on the project, contact me.
