Andreu World Las Fallas Valencian Holiday Chair Parade

In a Corona Virus free world, there would've been a fiesta of noise and fire going on in the streets of Valencia, Spain where Andreu World is based called Las Fallas. Every year prior, for 5 Days the town celebrates by parading unique ninots, large cartoonish sculptures that started as a means for carpenters to burn wood scraps at the end of winter to light up the dark nights. By the 18th century, the ritual had evolved into wood carvings of caricatures displaying--much like political cartoons--the unacceptable social behaviors happening in the world which entertained Valencians with irony and criticism. By the 1900’s the Town Hall of Valencia awarded prizes for the best Fallas and now it has become a yearly tradition that has been named an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. It is definitely one of the world's craziest festivals that blurs the lines of pagan and religious traditions. At the end of the week, all the ninot sculptures are judged and burned in a big fireworks display of noise and light in the hours before midnight.

If the event was a furniture parade, we think that Andreu World’s more Iconic and flamboyant pieces would be displayed… such as NubZarina and Smile—but without the fiery ending, of course. Contact me for more information.
